Check and change the transmission oil at the intervals specified in the periodic maintenance chart.
When checking or changing the transmission oil, make sure that no foreign material enters the transmission. If necessary, clean the filler cap and surrounding area.
Park the vehicle on a level surface.
Remove the passenger seat cushion.
Pull the tab to lift up the rubber cover.
Remove the transmission oil dipstick and wipe it clean.
With the arrow mark pointing outward, fully insert the dipstick into the oil filler hole and then remove it again.
The oil level should be between the minimum and maximum level marks.
If the oil level is at or below the minimum level mark, add oil.
Add a sufficient amount to raise to the maximum level mark, but do not overfill.
Install the dipstick.
Install the rubber cover.
Install the passenger seat cushion.
Place an oil pan under the transmission case to collect the used oil.
Remove the transmission oil dipstick.
Remove the transmission oil drain bolt and gasket.
Oil will flow out immediately when the drain bolt is loosened. Take care not to lose the bolt.
After draining the oil, install the transmission oil drain bolt with a new gasket.
Tighten the drain bolt to the specified torque.
Refill the transmission with the specified amount of the recommended oil.
Install the dipstick.
Start the engine and let it idle while checking for oil leakage.
Stop the engine and check the oil level one last time.
Install the rubber cover and passenger seat cushion.
