The ignition system fails to operate (no spark or intermittent spark).

Before troubleshooting, remove the following part(s):

Check the ignition system wire harness connections.	NG→	Reconnect.
OK↓
Check the fuse(s). Refer to CHECKING THE FUSES.	NG→	Replace the fuse(s).
OK↓
Check the battery. Refer to CHECKING AND CHARGING THE BATTERY.	NG→	Clean the battery terminals. Recharge or replace the battery.
OK↓
Check the spark plug. Refer to CHECKING THE SPARK PLUG.	NG→	Correct or replace the spark plug.
OK↓
Check the ignition spark gap. Refer to CHECKING THE IGNITION SPARK GAP.	OK→	The ignition system circuit is OK.
NG↓
Check the ignition coil. Refer to CHECKING THE IGNITION COIL.	NG→	Replace the ignition coil.
OK↓
Check the engine stop switch. Refer to CHECKING THE SWITCHES.	NG→	Replace the handlebar switch (left).
OK↓
Check the crankshaft position sensor. Refer to CHECKING THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR.	NG→	Replace the crankshaft position sensor.
OK↓
Check the stator coil assembly. Refer to CHECKING THE STATOR COIL.	NG→	Replace the stator coil assembly.
OK↓
Check the ignition system wire harness. Refer to CIRCUIT DIAGRAM.	NG→	Repair or replace the wire harness.
OK↓
Replace the ECU.

The indicator light fail to blink.

Before troubleshooting, remove the following part(s):

Check the handlebar switch coupler (left) connections.	NG→	Reconnect.
OK↓
Check the gear position switch coupler connections.	NG→	Reconnect.
OK↓
Check the mode switch. Refer to CHECKING THE SWITCHES.	NG→	Replace the handlebar switch (left).
OK↓
Check the gear position switch. Refer to CHECKING THE GEAR POSITION SWITCH.	NG→	Replace the gear position switch.
OK↓
Check the fuel ignition system wire harness. Refer to CIRCUIT DIAGRAM.	NG→	Repair or replace the wire harness.
OK↓
Replace the ECU.

The indicator light to blink.

Before troubleshooting, remove the following part(s):

Check the handlebar switch coupler (left) connections.	NG→	Reconnect.
OK↓
Check the handlebar switch (left). Refer to CHECKING THE SWITCHES.	NG→	Replace the handlebar switch (left).
OK↓
Check the ignition system wire harness. Refer to CIRCUIT DIAGRAM.	NG→	Repair or replace the wire harness.
OK↓
Replace the ECU.
